It's February Hunt Time!

TCJVH double hunt gifts, Valentine dress and Love Tree.
Sweeeeet!

... at Sweet Revolutions & Independent Objects. Among the gazebos are a couple of cute dresses.

A Gothic Romance Female Hunt Prize.

Now, Annthrasite is all nice and organized, but Not Lludmila. We'll try to remember which hunt these are from. The mesh dress gifts come with the matching boots. The prizes cost 1L.

And for equal time, the I Hate You hunt prize:
The Hate Tree.

Through a Prism

The hunt haul from Prism.

Regular readers of this blog know that I have the memory of a cat with ADHD. I think I've finally found a brilliant way to keep track of hunt prizes ... at least when they come from Prism, who are kind enough to include the name of the hunt on the box that the prize is in. Each outfit is photographed with the box that has the hunt name on it, so you will know what you're getting before clicking on it. All the hunts were free.

Annthrasite had only dropped in for the new group gift, and saw all the posters outside for the hunts. This often leads to a Nervous Breakdown.

The Frozen Flowers Hunt and Yes I Am A Dancer Hunt prizes contained mesh items (the jeans and the skirt, respectively). They were also my favorites.

The shoes are that same pair of Baby Monkey platform pumps, which were color change and came in about 20 colors. This is really handy when taking photos for the blog.

This Weekend

This 60 Linden Weekend offering from Sweet Lies  is a gorgeous medieval-y dress with beautiful accessories. The dress is mesh and the sleeve puff embellishments are extra prims. It comes with the belt, necklace, earrings (peer through the hair, they're in there), and the circlet. There is an additional modesty top for those who don't want to show off the tatas.

The Poised new group gift is ever so cute. The group is free to join. The outfit came with Slink platform pumps, but no alpha layer for the pumps. Not sure if you need the Slink feet for that or if it's just an omission. Annthrasite substituted some Baby Monkey platform pumps.

As beautiful as mesh clothing is, there are always little glitches, especially if you're planning on your avatar doing any moving. Mine are out dancing at least twice a week. For the blog I sometimes have to find a pose that shows off the mesh at its best, long hair will cover a multitude of pecadillos, or in some extreme cases a teeny bit of Photoshop is required. Worst case scenario: I throw the outfit away and it doesn't get blogged. The two outfits above had their little problems, but are so gorgeous I had to share them. Perhaps a more standard shaped av (which I refuse to succumb to) wouldn't have those problems. [Is it just my avs or does everyone's av have a right shoulder that's higher than the left??!!]

There is also a cheating workaround where I make an underlayer to cover bits of skin that show that the alpha layer doesn't cover. Fingerless gloves in a matching shade will patch bits of elbow and forearm that stick out. I saved one of my favorite outfits with this. I can't express how disappointed I was that a bit of arm showed, but sticking on a pair of black gloves that only cover from just below the elbow to above saved that top from the ignominy of the trash file.

Do you have any workarounds you use to "save" a favored outfit that falls just slightly short of being perfection?

Ten Lindens

Pajamas sold separately.

Dreamland Designs is  back with a vengeance. There's a 10L furniture and clothing outlet where one can reap entire sets, such as this dining room table with chairs, rug, placemats that rez food, etc. and, and the cute pajamas. Oh, and there are also some Whatever Thursday sale items, but do check the outlet first. Follow the 10L trail.

Lludmila is thrilled with the dining room set - which was just what she was looking for for one of her recent Trompe Loeil houses. She's falling so far behind in deploying the houses. First she has to dress them up to her satisfaction. She also picked up some living room furniture and a desk set, but they don't go with this house. Maybe they'll fit in the next one. Which reminds me, only 9 more days till Collabor88!

The Only Tweed You'll Ever Need

Well, maybe just one more tweed outfit ...
This full outfit of off-the-shoulder black tweed top and pants with bootlets from Black Haus White Market is still 60L for Nervous Breakdown Weekends ... or whatever it's called. There are more sales for Widdling Wednesday and probably a Thrombosis Thursday offering up as well. If black and white ain't your thing, check the shop downstairs for more sales and more color.

If any designers are listening, we here at Unslutty and Undead love the off-the-shoulder look. Really, really love it. And we hate-hate-hate the one shoulder thingie. Less of that, please. Oh, there are exceptions. Someone once actually overcame my abhorrence for wedges ... but only once, for one particular pair. So, this is the skinny: off shoulder, good - one shoulder and wedges, baaad. As if you care what we think.

Tweed suit and boots from BHWM.
Hair, group gift from little bones (see previous post).
Skin, old hunt prize, possibly from Double Divas, but I don't see it there now.

Newness

Black Mirror hair in Nightingale
Off shoulder peasant top and corset
Persefone skin

Annthrasite recently took in a load of goodies. Several hunts are going on at FashioNatic, little bones is relentlessly sending out group gifts, and YS & YS has a new skin as a group gift.
Again, it's really worthwhile to stick with a shop's group, even if they're free to join.

Pink Slim Wrap dress
Black Mirror hair in Mousse

YourSkin & YourShape group gift, Persefone skin in earth tone.

little bones group gift, Black Mirror hair in Mousse and in  new color: Nightingale. Two other colors included.

FashioNatic Forbidden Apple Hunt gift, off the shoulder peasant top with corset (1L) and pink wrap dress from the Dark Lady hunt (1L).

Fat strap sandals, not free, from Baby Monkey. I think they were discontinued, but be sure to check out the fat packs upstairs. Bargains galore! Fat packs for 50L! Annthrasite is still standing in the middle of them, having a nervous breakdown!
