Sweet Winter Love

With winter coming, we must prepare to keep our avs toasty and warm. This snowflake bedecked coat from the Winter Love hunt at FieraOCity is just the ticket. Pair it with boots, and young Annthrasite there is ready to take on the coming shopping days!
The free hunt item is a small heart - in this case it's white and tricky to locate, but shouldn't pose a problem.

It's the weekend, Kathy was bored, so she went hunting - hoping for something new and Halloweenie, so she chose the Scissors Happy Hunt where prizes are 1 Linden. Here she shows off the feathery goodness of the Smoke Gown from Blue Couture and Kathy indicates for Lludmila (who isn't allowed any more clothes) the Spooky Mirror with the animated image (Charon's Coin hunt). Find the Kitty! Kiyomizu Fall Hunt

It's that time of year again, time to stagger around the whole Kiyomizu Shopping Island looking for the cats with all the goodies inside. Sometimes you visit the main store (as in the case of Aya above) where you can also buy some cute stuff - like the pink or blue marker and eraser typing animation.

Son of the Bride of the Night of the Living Cart Sale

Coming up in the month of October is the I Heart the Cart Sale - AKA Night of the Living Cart Sale and Mini-Hunt. It looks like a doozy, if just what d.l.s. has on offer is any example. The above set of fall themed unrigged mesh ballet flats is a steal at 10L (did I mention it's the Cart Sale?). Also available are wall stencils in a 10L gacha, a free Halloween outfit, Halloween furnishings, and, OMG, a 2L hunt item of a skully trenchcoat for both men and women.

But, we all know it's all about the shoooooes. Okay, maybe that's just me. At any rate, get yourself and your pad outfitted for October starting October 1st.

However, while wandering around, Lludmila found this really nice texture change mesh dress as a My 60L Secret offer at JK Style. It comes with the long strand of pearls that go down the back.

Letting You In On the d.l.s.

The Citrus Blues outfit (butterflies not included - just something else Annthrasite is loath to give up) is available for 100L all through March from dirty.little.secret at The Kollective. This is the whole dress and shoes, and mighty cute it is. Annthrasite can just feel spring right around the corner.

This Weekend

This 60 Linden Weekend offering from Sweet Lies  is a gorgeous medieval-y dress with beautiful accessories. The dress is mesh and the sleeve puff embellishments are extra prims. It comes with the belt, necklace, earrings (peer through the hair, they're in there), and the circlet. There is an additional modesty top for those who don't want to show off the tatas.

The Poised new group gift is ever so cute. The group is free to join. The outfit came with Slink platform pumps, but no alpha layer for the pumps. Not sure if you need the Slink feet for that or if it's just an omission. Annthrasite substituted some Baby Monkey platform pumps.

As beautiful as mesh clothing is, there are always little glitches, especially if you're planning on your avatar doing any moving. Mine are out dancing at least twice a week. For the blog I sometimes have to find a pose that shows off the mesh at its best, long hair will cover a multitude of pecadillos, or in some extreme cases a teeny bit of Photoshop is required. Worst case scenario: I throw the outfit away and it doesn't get blogged. The two outfits above had their little problems, but are so gorgeous I had to share them. Perhaps a more standard shaped av (which I refuse to succumb to) wouldn't have those problems. [Is it just my avs or does everyone's av have a right shoulder that's higher than the left??!!]

There is also a cheating workaround where I make an underlayer to cover bits of skin that show that the alpha layer doesn't cover. Fingerless gloves in a matching shade will patch bits of elbow and forearm that stick out. I saved one of my favorite outfits with this. I can't express how disappointed I was that a bit of arm showed, but sticking on a pair of black gloves that only cover from just below the elbow to above saved that top from the ignominy of the trash file.

Dreamland Designs is  back with a vengeance. There's a 10L furniture and clothing outlet where one can reap entire sets, such as this dining room table with chairs, rug, placemats that rez food, etc. and, and the cute pajamas. Oh, and there are also some Whatever Thursday sale items, but do check the outlet first. Follow the 10L trail.

Lludmila is thrilled with the dining room set - which was just what she was looking for for one of her recent Trompe Loeil houses. She's falling so far behind in deploying the houses. First she has to dress them up to her satisfaction. She also picked up some living room furniture and a desk set, but they don't go with this house. Maybe they'll fit in the next one. Which reminds me, only 9 more days till Collabor88!
