Looking Weedy

Toysoldier Dandelion gown from Paris Metro.

We'd go to the Paris Metro Gallery just to see the exhibits, but the chance that there will be another fabulous and free commemorative gown on offer makes it even more enticing. This Dandelion gown is a real delight! And if you want an "After Five" outfit, just remove the mermaid skirt attachments and you have a cute dress!

The Toysoldier Thor art exhibit has both sculpture and 2-dimensional art.

Very naughty of Kathy to wear The White Armory Group Gift
from last Sunday.  Note the free gown sign in the back.

Annthrasite is also wearing a group gift hair from little bones and The Cart Sale special skin from Lumae. See previous post below.

Sunday Best

Gift from Paris Metro.
Some parts are mesh.

This gift from Paris Metro is a nice use of mesh.  We're Phoenix users and there are only so many alpha bits we can wear at one time.  Consequently, I complain (mostly to myself) about mesh and grouse when I try to get on a V3-style viewer - and spend all my time crashing and relogging.  Gah.  And then we try to squeeze different avs into the mesh clothing and it either doesn't work or ... it's just lame.  So far the experience with mesh at Paris Metro (and G Field) has been good.  It's worth wearing shoes with invisiprims again.

This week's group gift from The White Armory.

No worries so far about mesh and TWA.  Just one gorgeous gown after another.  Ho-hum.  Oo! but this one has wings!  There are fairies at the bottom of our garden - and they sure are overdressed!  There are little blings painted on the decolletage to draw attention to where the outermost edge of the areola might possibly be lurking but actually isn't.  What a nice touch and just avoids sluttiness (mostly by covering up the rest of the torso and all of the legs and arms).

Hee hee hee!

I'm tired of including slurls.  For heavenssake, just look it up in search!

Unslutty at Ho Wear

Fabulous gown and hair from Ho Wear.

More great purple.

Outrageously fabulous kimono.

We thought we'd joined the Ho Wear group back in October when we were blown away by the freebies.  Then we never heard anything.  So we went back to check - and they've put out 21 gifts for Christmas!  OMG!  The outfits range from sexy to goth to goth sexy to normal to costume ... some that come with skin, shape, eyes - pretty much everything except footwear.  The kimono is the only gift that came with shoes, in the form of geta.
The presents aren't hidden or small - but they are all over the shop and its extensions.  There is something there for everyone, even those of us who stick with unslutty!

A Gallery of Gowns

The long and the short of it.

There's a new exhibit of photographs at the Paris Metro Gallery and two new commemorative gowns!  We always enjoy the art exhibits there and they have some magnificent photographs this time.

You can usually tell how much I like an outfit by how many pix I take.

Below a just a couple of the photos - what is this obsession I have with morning?  Ask my husband, I'm the one always sleeping in.  I love the grey and the fog!*

Another morning photo, this time by K T Syakumi

And no Sunday post is complete without The White Armory Group gift.  Love the coloring on this!  Goes nicely with those morning photos!
More photos of this one on my Flickr  page.

Tired of taking fashion photos of the same old gorgeous White Armory freebies in my photobox, I sent Kathy to the Looking Glass sim.

Gowns Galore

Gift from Leezu
In order to qualify for "unslutty" this gift from Leezu had to have modesty undies added. Other avatars might not mind going around in the cold with their whole midsection hanging out, but, as we all know, that isn't Lludmila's thing.  And, yes, that is a lighted candle on top of that hat.

"Who's Queen?"
We've been picking up the weekly gift gowns from The White Armory for longer than my inventory cares to remember.  In fact, I think deleting them would probably solve all my inventory problems.  But then they put this gown out and I remember how much I love the gorgeous fairy-taleness of it all.  This is a great gown if you want to take up as much room as possible.  The prim skirt really fans out.  It took up the whole photo-box and stuck out the back! Ossummmm!

Just one of the Vintage Apparel Emporium
Advent gifts

If you've been to the Vintage Apparel Emporium every day in December, you will have picked up the pieces of so far three vintage gowns and there's a fourth showing up!  Unlike most shop's Advent gifts, you can still get the earlier gifts ... for the price of the day!  Day One is 1L, Day Two is 2L, etc.

Kathy's hair is from that great sale at Dark Mouse again ... in fact I think this color was a freebie!

Freebie Christmas Pudding earrings from Reasonable Desires.

White on White

Woman with Attitude (and cleavage).

The Calliope gown is this week's group gift from The White Armory.  Kathy is wearing the Love Like Winter skin in Aether from Heartsick and borrowed Lludmila's casual updo, Adena, from Amacci.  Yikes, I need a hot cocoa just looking at this outfit.

Fey and Feisty

Hunt gift from Paris Metro
Paris Metro blabs the whereabouts of their hunt gifts to their subscribo folk, so this dress was super easy to find.  It's part of the Flighty February Hunt and absolutely shimmers.  Lludmila flits by, a fairy hiding in the grass.  Who is that searching for her back there?

This week's group gift from The White Armory
At the other end of the spectrum is this bellicose confection from The White Armory.  Just wearing it makes Kathy's pectorals bulge.  No, wait - that's just some shaded pixels.  Catch some attitude!

Many thanks to Paris Metro and The White Armory for cheering me up.  I couldn't believe that the 60L weekend list came out and I couldn't find anything I really, really wanted.  Not even for 60L!

The White Armory

Lludmila did not believe the group gift from The White Armory, so she had to go look for herself. It is every bit as beautiful as its hyperbolic name (Soul Eternal) and comes with tintable pasties, in case it's cut too low for some, which appeals to Lludmila's sense of propriety. The hair, Quaint - White Queen from !SyDS! is a lovely style, but Lludmila didn't care for the blue cast to it - which is a shame because it flows so nicely. The Quaint - Red Queen has the same blue - not sure why that is. The blue doesn't seem as noticeable with this dress. It looks like it's picking up some of the blue-grey color near the hem. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The Fann's Touch dress, one of three cheapies from Phoenix Rising, provided an opportunity to show off more GaNKeD innovations with this Goldblooded in Iced Onyx set. The skirt to the dress has black feathers cut on the diagonal. The silvery bodice is detailed and understated for an elegant look.

Intentions was not Lludmila's favorite of the three cheapies - she didn't quite understand the white lacy bra thing that showed, but it was on another layer and could be left off. The petticoat is a puffball of white feathers (I'll not share the handstand shot because that would be slutty) that shows better with movement - which I caught just a smidge of here. This also exposed the fact that Lludmila sneaks about shoeless - but the toenails on the new Absentia zombie/undead skin are very nice!

Lludmila loves the contrast of the white brocade on the bodice and the black of the Edo's Onjah dress. It comes with a more slender skirt option, but Lludmila loves poofy! The more slender skirt shows off her "back shelf" too well, which is fine in pants, but the prim skirts don't work as well with it. Lludmila can adjust her posterior for such things, but, she loves the poofy.

Short hair worn with the Fann's Touch dress is Kissy, Kissy from Tiny Bird.
The updo is Adena from Amacci - nice and messy. All colors have been available for this free hair since May.
The long mermaid tresses came from the late, great Hairy Situations that closed its doors in June.

Formally Undead

This is one of my favorite dresses. I like the layers and the texture. It and the next dress are both from Marinoco Fashions which made another freebie I just love, that looks like that Bohemian red glass. They have been very generous and make some lovely dresses. This one is called Green Brigita. The Cordelia hair was a freebie from Vanity Hair in the pink color and I decided I liked it well enough to buy the white.

This richly bottle green dress (also from Marinoco) was called Forever Christmas, but you can wear this green any old time and it goes well with my greenish skin. Because I am so short, you can't see my shoes, which I am not even wearing. Heh! The dress might not look so long on someone of more average height, but at 4'8" it sinks below floor level. I'm in my photo box here, hovering in midair over a posing stand, so you can't tell.

Tee hee! I love some of the quirkier clothes from Kuri Style, who is also very very generous. New outfits often have a cheapie in one of the colors. Not all the outfits are Asian, but this one has a definite kimono look to it and is called, appropriate, Kimono Dress. The Baby Monkey pink and tan Gaby flats went with it nicely. The flats came with a cute handbag, but that's just one more thing to carry. Baby Monkey showers gifts on its group members. I was sad to have to leave the group, but you're only allowed 25 groups!

The hair is from the group lucky board at SyDS. The board is on a three minute timer, so it's worth hanging around for some lovely and then some amusingly oddball hairstyles. You do have to be a member of the group, though. This hair is called Opera Without Music.

Dream of the Red Ballgown

Red is not really my color. I'm not sure who can wear red, but I think it's someone with darker (and perhaps less green) skin and hair. Nevertheless, I really liked this gown from Dana at the Clothing Fair, although the skirt is crazy. The panels of the skirt have a brocade pattern reminescent of the pattern on the bodice. [Oh dear, I hadn't meant to sound like I was pretending to know anything.] It gave me something to wear with that awesome jewelry from GaNKed!

I really dread accessorizing. It takes long enough to get dressed in SL without having to match up your clothes with more than shoes and appropriate hairstyles. That huge exposed display area between the chin and the nipples is crying out for something, though.

While I dread accessorizing, I adore clunky jewelry. One of my real life friends scoffed that the earrings I made in RL (tm) would stretch out the holes in one's ears. GaNKeD style makes my little head swim, no twiddly bangles or fiddly necklaces you have to zoom in on to appreciate here! Not only are the parures in-your-face gorgeous, but I've come away from that place with armloads of freebies. Bless their creator for such generosity! Here also is an example of something you can do in SL that you can't in RL. Those enormous cuffs and the necklace are just gems embedded in the arms and chest. They maintain their shape through the magic of the building scripts, locking them in place.
Umm, the black things are my flies. Black goes with everything, right?

Before going out to dance in this dress with its crazy panels, I tested it out with Cal, forcing him to put on the burgundy suit in hopes of blending in. It passed the Viennese Waltz test, but when we hopped on some dance balls later, we both got lost in the chrysanthemum effect.

I thought the rezzing of the parure was amusing. It looked like a scene out of "The Incredibles."
