Hunt Madness

Amusing ... critter shirt n shorts from  Cupcake Clothing

Kathy was green with envy (which is usually Lludmila's shade) over Annthrasite's Canada Day themed goodies that she went right out and did the O Canada Hunt. In this way madness lies. Mad, I tell you, mad, mad, maaaad!
Ohhh, the chair, the chair! from Sin Original

We can't possibly post everything. [See note re: "madness" above.] What happens, as I'm sure you all know, is that you go on "a" hunt, and you discover shops are running more than one hunt. Pretty soon it's a challenge to pick everything up,  you know, while you're there. So we can only show a few of our favorites.
Mesh hoodie from Lyrieal's Boutique

Then you hit Isis, that usually has a dozen hunts going all at once. Now, there was a time that Lludmila was searching for some decent ballet shoes to go with the ballet animations and she was too cheap to buy the gorgeous ones at Slink (even with the group discount). Then she picked some up in a hunt at Isis. Lemme tell you, Isis, you can quit now.

[I returned to the post after feeding the cats only to find what looked like more than half the post missing, but it turns out that, in her hurry to get fed, my cat must have stood on the enter button too long. Well, phew.]

Tank top and jeans also from Lyrial's Boutique

I'm going to let you in on a little secret that will probably get me drummed out of the Borderline Fashionista Sisterhood. I hate wedges. I always have. I think they look stupid. I wouldn't be caught dead in them in RL. However, the ones in the photo below I might consider being caught in slightly ill, maybe tonsillitis or a really bad hangnail. Lludmila might need a pair and I bet Annthrasite will consider the disadvantages of being green.

Wrapped up wedges from Black Petticoat hunt at Impish

I still can't get over liking the wedges. Sigh. What is the world coming to?

Men's mesh jacket from Black Petticoat hunt at Impish.
Thanks to alpha layers, it looks great on gals, too!
Shorts from the men's OCH gift from Cupcake Clothing.

And once you have the shoes, then whole outfits come together, don't they? Kathy loves wearing the guys' stuff. Whatta tomboy!

Canada pride rug from Stitches Creations.

Cupcake Clothing - Beaver tank top, pocket shorts, men's plaid (of course) bermudas.
Sin Original - Canada, the Chair.
Lyrieal's Boutique - hoodie, red tank top, jeans (oh, dang! could wear this for July 4!)
Impish - Wrapped Up Wedges that aren't awful at all!
Stitches Creations - the Canada Pride Rug.
Isis - for all your ballet shoe needs (okay, and heels and jellies).
Kathy's skin is from Aeva. Mesh feet are available for all the Aeva shades. So much easier than trying to match skin tones with a HUD.

More info with slurls and hints on the O Canada Hunt at the official blog.

Oh BOY, Canada!

It's too late to show your colors for Canada Day this year, but it couldn't hurt to prepare for the next! These shoes are free in the O Canada themed hunt at Lindy's. Look for the teeny Canadian flag! In the meantime, they'll go with any red or red/white outfit!

Also, Lindy's is preparing to move, so be sure to collect the new slurl.

Annthrasite got these amazing boots at Ho Wear that were available at an amazing bargain for one day only. As of today, there are some stilettos for 25L, but these really amazing sales are only available for one day at a time. This means Annthrasite has to log on every day and drop in to check what's up that's also amazing. Or she could just check the blog ...
The boots are still available, but they, and their USA counterpart, now cost 125L. At least you can wear the USA boots on Thursday.

Am I Blue?

Jilly with prim feet & flipflops.

Remember those fabulous flip-flops from a previous post? Ann found the perfect sundress to go with them. She's all ready for Caneel Bay in this group gift from Leri Mills Designs at Acid Lily Gallery.

Evolution dress in jade.

For those of you green with envy - there's more. There was another group gift available (must be another one of those happy accidents) at Acid Lily Gallery, this time a green cocktail dress from even.flow.  The Acid Lily Gallery is free to join and if you pay attention, you can get some great gifts!

Luckily, Ann has some color change heels from Es Styles that will go with almost anything.
Hair: Former subscribo gift from Truth.
Skin: Jaci, Autumn Kiss from Aeva. Gosh! This may actually have been paid for! But I bet it was on sale, if I know Ann.
Eyes: Clear Pond, former freebie from Poetic Colors - I think he has a new one out, but these go with the dress, now don't they?

Celebrating Ten Thousand Views

Many thanks to the folks who have bothered to look at my alleged fashion blog over the past three years.

Many thanks also to the regular models who have done silly things, worn bizarre outfits, and generally taken time away from their "busy" schedules to make it look like a whole stable of people!

We've had our ups and downs - our fame and infamy - and only do it for our own amusement.  Guess I'll keep it going a while longer. But just as something to fill time.

Rag Dollz Mania

Dobins in green from Rag Dollz.

Currently in the Daytime Mania board in the Men's section of Rag Dollz is a great western outfit with hat. The board is set for 50 and should be easy to attain over the weekend.

Puppy not pictured.  That photo wouldn't load properly.
It's a shoulder pet.

Also at Rag Dollz on the open Midnight Mania board is a cute puppy-themed outfit ... complete with puppy.

Totally unedited (other than cropping) photo.
I don't know when I've seen a  match this good.

I had just intended to point up the mania boards at Rag Dolls, but Cal had those fabulous boots and I wondered if they were still available, so I went to look. They were originally from J's Mainshop, which still exists and still has the western boots (sadly, no longer free) as well as some other really gorgeous shoes. They have a group gift (the group is free to join) of these mesh flip-flops with feet and color-change toenails. The skin HUD was one Ann had never used before and after actually reading the directions the above photo shows the result. I look in vain to find the join. The notecard that came with the flip-flops was scary, but the directions are found through a button on the HUD and are pictorial.

Update:

Just a reminder that these outfits look just as good on gals!

Must Keep Up With Group Gifts!

Annthrasite all but forgot about her Lamu group. Shouldn't she be due for another group gift? I'll say! A blue and white sundress and matching bikini and "skirt." They come with a pair of flip-flops. However, while trying on the mesh dress for sizes, Ann found this alternating with the blue:

There's also a second pair of flip-flops! Ann luckily could wear both the small and the medium so she has two dresses for the price of ... well, nothing. It was all one big gift!

Update: Oh darn! Someone ratted! Now all the dresses are blue and white. Oh well.

The Never-Ending Hunt Post

Deb Irridescent gown in garnet (note stockings that come with).

Annemie print dress and Vanessa bikini, both mesh items from LivGlam.

Jessica skin from Style by Kira.

The Here Comes Summer Hunt at Flawless has little strawberries and specials on the carts. The link takes you to the front of Lindy's where you can drool at the shoes on the cart and more weekend specials inside as well as hunt prize for the latest edition of the Silk Road.
The print dress from LivGlam is one of those that comes with a dress HUD. You wear that, click on it, and it gives you the dress in all its sizes in a folder. When you're done, you just delete that folder because you can always get it from the HUD - which cuts down on inventory. Brilliant! It's one thing if you are the same shape all the time, but if you have many shapes for different occasions, say, if you blog about fashion all the time,  it becomes extra-special handy. Many thanks!

Very very colorful installation at Paris Metro Gallery.

Paris Metro: Fuschia Fashion! Skin from NVious by GG at the Flawless Hunt.

Fuschia has another multi-media installation at the Paris Metro art gallery - and there is yet another dress. This one can be worn as the separate mesh mini-dress or with the skirt, clutch, and hat.

Rag Dollz: Medieval Fantasy Hunt outfits for Him and Her.

Such fun! Period zombie clothes, too!

Rag Dollz is going to give me a nervous breakdown some day. All of my avatars traipsed through that shop today (saying hello to the greeter each time in a different way) collecting hunt gifts. There's the Silk Road Hunt, the Medieval Fantasy Hunt, and the third one wasn't even advertised! I don't know if it's an old one that someone forgot to tidy away, but it has period zombie gear in it. Look in the costume area for a lumpy thing that might be a brain or it might be a small coil of rope. I couldn't tell.

Brain Circuit: Ancient Silk Merchant (female version similar).

And then swing by Brain Circuit Inc. for some Silk Road. And then hit the Midnight Mania board, etc.

Now, let me mention that this might seem like a lot of work just to collect some goodies. Well, you don't know the half of it. Imagine having to unload all these boxes, wear the stuff, adjust it, photo it, edit the photos (some light photoshopping is done just to touch up small areas that I didn't notice in time weren't quite right, such as the prim feet in the bikini shot), get all the info (which often entails going back to the source, because I'm not all that organized), and then put it all in a post. This can (and did) take all day (taking out time for meals, of course).

It's all worthwhile if it gives you the heads up on something you absolutely can't live without. (Oh, do hurry to Rag Dollz and get the Sad Fate of Sophie Longbottom outfit and pair it up with some ghastly skin! It will make you giggle!) I only do this because I love the novelty and creativity and I just have to share.

Anyone can tell you that I hate to pay for anything, but usually find something at the shops during hunts or while scouting out freebies and will pay actual real virtual currency for it. And I will sometimes leave a tip if the shop owner was smart enough to leave out a tipjar.

If you are a shop-owner, two things:
     1. Hardly anybody ever reads these posts so hand over freebies at your own risk.
and
     2. Put out a tipjar, for heavenssake! Some of us don't have a lot of money but we'd like to show our appreciation.

Styling Credits:

What?! Are you kidding?! Get outta town! Ummm, skins not mentioned are either from Aeva or somewhere else. Platform heels are colorchange ones from Baby Monkey. Hair is from all over the map, but Analog Dog is very generous with the freeballs and Truth sends out great group/sub gifts. The Bride of Frankie pose on poor Sophie is from my marketplace shop (see the link at right). For other locations, aw, use your search button! That's what it's for!
