No Longer a Secret

Back! With a sexy outfit!

Dirty Little Secret is back. At the moment it's just on the Marketplace until Tash can arrange for inworld space. And she has a new line ... omg -

Is Annthrasite trying to tell us something?

It's a maternity line! Now, calm down all of you. There's nothing slutty about maternity - unless you have a virtual fetus that annoys people with its chat. Real babies wait to be born to say something, and then you have to tell them what to say.

Another cute maternity outfit from d.l.s.

The outfits are mesh (so try the free demo first) and come with boots or shoes (as pictured) for 149L.

The d.l.s. group will have a fee (temporarily reduced) of 50L, but goodies are promised and it will help you keep abreast of inworld developments.

Welcome back, Tash!

In the Group Loop

Mermaid outfit comes with Mer-AO in case you don't already have one.

AnaLee Balut at ALB Dream Fashion has put out fresh group gifts - one for the mermaid in you and the other ...

This full outfit is available for men -
earrings and all.

... for the more colorful masculine in you? The Lamu Group is free to join. [Men's suit here.]

Vero Modero announced a fresh round of group gifts, but their old ones are still available. The pink poppy dress is last month's.

This is such a pretty little dress - with or without the shoulder flowers.

This cool colors triangle dress with feather hair accessory might work for any 60s parties coming up in your future.

Annthrasite looks all cross for being put in a yet another dress.

The Vero Modero group is also free to join and they have gifts for men as well as women. Why Annthrasite didn't want the men's gift is anyone's guess.

I don't want to get preachy ... but I will anyway. Lludmila doesn't join groups for just the gift (okay, maybe the first time she was lured in by the gift). She sticks with her groups, even though she capped out at 42. After all, if they offer one gift, maybe they will offer another some day! Or maybe she wants to get notices of new items and sales because she liked the gift and the merchandise in the shop. We know that there are some avatars out there who jump on and off groups like fleas. Stick with your group for a while and see if the information you get is worthwhile. Lludmila did leave a group just this week because the group chat (which she had turned off but was still pouring in) was driving her nuts. [Ev'ryday, ev'rygoshdarnday someone would post something in group chat and the next thing you knew, ev'ryone was responding.] But that was an exception. Other groups might be left because she never heard anything from them. You just can't please some avs.

Okay, the particulars:

Truth - short hair (subscriber gift)
Analog Dog freeball - long curly hair
Aeva - Faith in shade 2 (sale skin) and Devotion Redux shade 2 (group* gift skin)
Yogi's Shoes - feet with pink sandals - Shop seems to be missing. Check back later.
J's MainShop - those fab feet with flip-flops Annthrasite can't get enough of (group gift)

*But you have to go to the shop to click the sign.

The Slippery Slopalope

It started as a simple plan. Annthrasite was looking through her landmarks, deleting some, visiting favorites, when she discovered her Lindy's shoes landmark was out of date. Horrors! So, using Search, of all things, she found a more updated landmark and tested it out. Why, surprise surprise surprise! She was at a shoe store. And whaddaya know, but there are a couple of hunts going on. Buffy sandals in The Anniversary Hunt FTW!

Buffy sandals in light pink.
Oooo! She already has the black pair!

But there's more at this new location. And, merely out of curiosity, she stopped by S&S Clockwork and picked up a couple more hunt items.

Wicked Stepmother and her boots.

The Sinister Steamhunt prize is this really lovely Wicked Stepmother outfit that Annthrasite went blonde for to show off the hat. She had to strip to show you the boots, which really are nice.

Also available for EnMeshed into Fall is a cute fall retreat with single and couples anims.

Charming scene from S&S Clockwork.

Do not trust this sweet face. She is plotting your demise.

Annthrasite is now stalking upcoming hunts while Lludmila is checking out the past hunt gifts (the Underwater Home Skybox - haha! - and the Sick Days Lounge were especially good) that were going for 25L. There go all their resolutions about keeping their inventories down.

What a Trip!

Tie-dye denim romper by Catastrophe Designs
Ev'ryone's got that tie-dye texture somewhere.
Lava Lamp one of many items from Potpourri Designs.
Chest an old acquisition from Shay's.

For those of you who did not actually live through the 60s and 70s, what a party you missed! Riots, bomb-scares, protests,  dirty long hair - you name it. And yes, I remember it, because I wasn't doing drugs. I did not go to Woodstock - my mom wouldn't even let me go to a local outdoor rock concert because she'd "heard what went on." And I was one of those kids who listened to Mom. There you go - I've said it.

The only scanned picture from that time I currently have of myself (full body anyway) is in fencing regalia [see below]. This is because my dad favored slides over prints, so there are virtually (if you'll pardon the adverb) no family photos of me from age 8 onward. The 50s, yes - and when I finally got my own camera in the 80s, but no 60s or 70s. I have to go on memory alone, which means I can pretend I didn't make any of those hilarious fashion errors with the gaudy prints, bell bottoms, and granny glasses that come back to haunt others. And you can't prove it. Ha ha!

Now, there's a Woodstock Hunt going on - relive the 60s! The last thing Lludmila needs is more clothes, but there happens to be a big 60s party coming up at the end of the month and while she managed to put together two pretty good "costumes" out of what she already had, she thought it couldn't hurt to see if there was anything good out there. Well, there was. These are just a few.

Starting at top left: Masoom, Ruby, K2K, Roots & Wings Gallery.
Bottom left: Grumble, Telsiope, ToXiC HiGh, Cupcake Clothing
By the way, a couple of these came with shoes, but that's just wrong. And besides, Lludmila doesn't have time to keep changing shoes or looking for ones that go with the outfits, so no shoes are shown. Take it from me, in Kentucky in the 60s, there were no shoes. That might have been just Kentucky, but ...

The Lowdown:

Catastrophe Designs - Isn't particularly authentic, but I really loved this romper.
Potpourri Designs - lava lamp. I love lava lamps. I actually own one. Also included are some beanbag chairs, a rug, a peace sign - fun things!
Masoom - I hope you can see the lacing in back.
Ruby - came with fringed boots and those glasses that now enable Lludmila to see SL in 3-D.
K2K - came with some black maryjanes that were nice enough but really loved the cute little dress. I'll have to go back because they have some really funny stuff too.
Roots & Wings Gallery - oh yes, remember that crinkly Indian cotton fabric?
Grumble - just so darn cute and worth the headache of finding it.
Telsiope - I'm trippin' on these colors, man.
ToXiC HiGh - Lludmila wasn't sure she'd like the prize, it not being "her sort of shop," but she only had to put it on before she started having flashbacks, man. Embroidered jeans came with.
Cupcake Clothing - I had a very similar skirt, but the pattern was teensy. I loved that skirt.

The hunt starts here at Wasteland, but have patience. Some shops have dropped the hunt, one hint board told Lludmila to wait until August 15 (it was the 18th). The hints are here - use your fair weather friend "search" when all else fails.

And now, what Lludmila put together from what she already had:

Mustn't forget the light lipstick fad. Hair should be
slightly messy for hippie, as opposed to Carnaby Street or that
Villager craze and Bass Weejuns.

Lludmila cheated by getting those boots yesterday off the Marketplace. They were free from AnaLee Balut. She calls these demos "wearable" because they don't have the telltale prims announcing that or a blank texture. She's extraordinarily generous with demos and group gifts and her clothes are unusual - different from the usual fare. Visit the sim, too, and find yourself back in the Kasbah.

And in the interest of full disclosure:

1950s (I'm the one on that poor, scrawny pony)

Late 1960s

1980s - OMG, is that a mesh tennis dress?
I clearly needed an alpha for that.

Hmmm, these seem to be giving the false impression that I'm some sort of athlete. Nothing, nothing could be further from the truth.

Attention Shoe Mavens! Ultra-Sale!

My internet is winking in and out and so,
despite several tries, a whole picture did not appear.
Sorry. Darn CenturyLink.

Here's the story, Baby Monkey is discontinuing some items in about 2 weeks. In the meantime, they are at the Outlet for extremely reduced prices. There are so many shoes in this sale! Shoes, bare feet, boots - Gah!

All shoes are L$10 (single colors) and all fatpacks are discounted a further 50%. All clothes at the outlet are L$5 per item.

The fatpacks I looked at ranged from 30 to 65L. Lludmila is having another nervous breakdown in there, but I thought I'd let you all know in the meantime. Whoops! There goes another fatpack! Down, girl, down!

Lucky Dancing

Yukata and bikini

Annthrasite and Lludmila only spent half the day at the Little Cat sim Bono Dori festival - mentioned in a different post. It goes on all week. We were only in a hurry to get some stuff to show you. There are about two dozen lucky boards, so your letter is bound to turn up quickly on something. It's a wide variety of things! Many mesh clothes, cute items ... all you have to do is dance. Dancing is required. Find a circle that's going around and hop on it. There are even some on the upper level in pink for tinies. And it's fun to chat while you wait, so bring some friends.

Leaf tube dress in five colors!

Towel dress, beach dress, short "yellow" dress, pink shorts & top.
Some outfits may require panties to maintain unsluttiness.

Very amusing typing AOs - eyelash crimping and time standing still.

Short yukata with two obi styles - geta included.

Inflated shower pool and tiny windchime.

Thanks to ... for:

Le muguet - the exquisite yukata!
mTk - bikini
kDm - towel dress
G.O.C. eyelash curler typer
AYA - Timestop typer
&Y - leaf tube dress in 5 colors
M*Motion - cami with shorts
Kai Surfboard - beach dress
Petite mii - yellow roze dress
milky way - mini yukata
atelierRK - windchime
PK - shower pool
... and there was so much more, but no time!

Not supplied: glasses, parasol, shoes, sandals, hair, eyes ... skins - and if you aren't a group member of Aeva, you're nuts - it's FREE. She just gave out a whole skin (granted, it was an older one she wasn't happy with) set to her members: all skin shades, all make-ups, bewb sizes, matching mesh feet*, tooth options (for those of you who do that sort of thing - I think it looks moronic), beauty marks, hair bases ...

Tsuki - shade 2, absinthe.

*These were sent out to the group earlier.

Pekas Bonanza

Midnight Mania and Sinister Steampunk prizes.

4 Elements Hunt, VMH Hunt, Menstuff Hunt.
Only 4 Elements included shoes.

4 Elements Hunt - oh, that darn Annthrasite!
She can't resist the men's clothes.

VMH Hunt and CH hunt (I dunno, some little penguin thing on the floor).

Pekas Designs is so full of hunt prizes, you almost trip over them. Some might be leftover from past hunts and are no longer advertised, but all you have to do is walk around the lobby and there they are!

What appears to be drippy mascara on Annthrasite is Aeva's latest group gift. It went so well with that Midnight Mania gown! It will be perfect also when Hallowe'en rolls around.

Discontinued Ho Wear

Today only at Ho Wear, some seven only slightly slutty (wait, the one on the far left is more cute than slutty, so make that one cute and six only slightly slutty) discontinued outfits for 35L each. Boots not included, but probably at Duce next door.

There's a new sale everyday, so just make it a habit to check each day.

Yes, yes - I probably shouldn't make judgment on outfits that way, but that's what this blog is about - finding outfits for middle-aged, middle-class, middle-of-the-road types like me ... with midriff bulge, TBH. And there's nothing wrong with slutty, it's just a style that doesn't appeal to me. And don't confuse it with Sexy - or make me get out the Venn Diagram. Slutty is Sexy without the subtlety. You can be covered head to toe and still be sexy. You can be totally nude and not be slutty. And there's a huge grey area in between. These outfits fall into that grey area. In other words, you  would not wear them out to lunch with the girls, but as evening wear/party gear/dominatrix work ...

A Sinister Offering

For all your mad alchemist needs.

August has come, and with it the Sinister Steampunk Hunt. Oh, dear! What fun! Cal and Lludmila are outfitted as Mad Alchemists from Brain Circuit Inc. [Please keep in mind that Lludmila is only 5'1" in heels so that coattail will probably be considerably shorter on other avs.] In another week, the flirty-naughty side of steampunk will be featured in the Burlesque vs Steampunk Hunt. We can hardly wait. While there, haggle with the Haggle Box, slap the Midnight Mania board, and hang out on a comfy chair waiting for your letter to come up on the Lucky Letter board (lace up boots this week - oo!).

Come with us ... or else.

Rag Dollz is sponsoring the Sinister Steampunk Hunt and is the first stop on the hunt. Their contribution is the Abduction Engineer. Cal's doing his best to look threatening, but we all know he's just a sweetie. The Group Midnight Mania board has a 99L gift card prize. Cal was able to get the fab medieval outfit below with a gift card. (Horse and spear not included but the boots were. Fabu!)

Handsome is as handsome does.

Cal, you're scaring your partner.

Cal wanted one more chance to look threatening, so he put on one of the old guy skins from REO-G Skins (lucky board and group lucky board gifts). I hate to tell him, but the pipe ruins the effect. You need a stumpy see-gar to look tough.
